Birth of a Stone, Death of a Thinker is a series of drawings I'm currently (2024-2025) working on that explores the connection between melting permafrost and crumbling mountains and our human consciousness that shapes our understanding of landscapes. It is inspired by mental and physical experiences when climbing tops and traversing glaciers in the summer of 2023, and by the precarious state of our climate that forces us to reimagine our perception of and relationship with mountains, due to a growing instability of mountains and the increasing risk of rockfall.
